Improved search people on Twitter

If you need to know who of your friends, friends, colleagues or relatives at this time is on Twitter - best take advantage of a renewed search for people at this service. New allows you to search the right person for the family name, first name or nick. Previously, this function has been implemented by developers, but because of the excessive load on the server it was removed and restored only at the end of the year.

In addition to finding people, or browse the most popular users of the service, the developers have incorporated a new tool to invite your friends in the service via e-mail. Part of this tool is to import your address book that can help show whether there is such a person in the service, or it should be invited. Of course, this feature is not new, but together with the renewed search is actually a new tool, which allows more efficient use of the service.

In fact, new functions are working very fast, not as an example the previous months' permanent 'podvisaniya. Apparently, developers have been able to improve himself or engine, or add new servers.

In addition, a subsidiary unit of Showtime, CBS renewed the company's own resources TV.com, which features some overlap with the Join Showtime. However, content TV.com slightly different from the "father" of the site, giving users the opportunity to get even more media content.

It seems that the TV companies are gradually moving in the network and are not going to stop the expansion of the Internet even in the face of financial crisis.

On YouTube more media advertising

At present videohosting on YouTube constantly improving the quality of the video is much improved, now supports playback of video clips in a broader format, and recently opened a YouTube channel HD-video.

All this is great, and we see thousands of comments from grateful users. However, neither the corporation does nothing simply because it is typical for Google: giving us the opportunity to download and view thousands of movies, Google, at the same time puts its advertising.

All would have had, but now at the top of the search to add the line, covering a small portion of the screen. In addition, we sometimes see pop-up, also hinder the normal view. All this is gradually closing movie itself, which after some time at all difficult to see because of the abundance of advertising and communications.

Of course, not all videos on YouTube like the fact that we have just described, but the observed negative trend of excessive monetization of video on the service, which can spoil any pleasure from viewing. Let's hope that everything will remain at current levels, and Google, think of different way to monetize some of its service.

Wagyu Beef - South City Prime

Should you trust guys who run seafood joints to open a serious (and seriously playful) steakhouse? At South City Prime, you can go all in.

When was the last time you had cotton candy? Probably when you were a kid or perhaps gave in to one of your own kids. If you dine at South City Prime, the final thing that will be brought to your table, gratis, is a colorful cone of cotton candy. It’s the perfect parting shot. Not only does it capture the imaginative, witty, slightly wacky spirit of the restaurant, but darn if the stuff doesn’t taste good.

It’s made of spun sugar, of course, but it melts in your mouth almost instantly, unlike the spongy stuff you may have pleaded for as a kid. And it sure beats after-dinner mints and even petit fours.

There’s no doubt that South City Prime works, at least at this stage of its young life. More intriguing is why its assortment of motifs work. The wood-slat exterior was inspired by a rustic steakhouse in Japan. Inside, the look achieved by Manhattan design firm ANYK is posh, louche, almost tongue-in-cheek, yet pampering. You almost expect to see Dean Martin shoo-bee-do across the lounge or greet guests in the dining rooms.

The main dining room, which overlooks the Passaic River on one side and has a glass wall of wine on the other, shimmers with iridescent gold draperies and plush ultrasuede chairs. A mirrored, sixties-ish center room features tufted ivory leather banquettes and ceiling, a glimmering glass chandelier, and a fireplace that looks like an aquarium set into the wall. Instead of swimming fish, the fireplace is filled with dancing gas flames.

An even larger glass-enclosed inferno, eighteen feet wide, dominates another dining area near the bar, decorated in blood red and black. There also are private rooms in back.

Partners Errick Paragioudakis, Graeme Dorras, and his son Joshua Dorras are veteran restaurateurs. They own the seafood-centric South City Grills in Rochelle Park, Mountain Lakes, and Jersey City. Two more South City Primes are scheduled to open this year in Montvale and in Jersey City’s Westin Hotel, under construction on the Newport waterfront.

“We love steakhouses, but they can be so stuffy,” says Paragioudakis. “We wanted to serve top-drawer steaks in an exciting environment that says ‘come out for a big evening.’”

The menu (and the tabs) are indeed big, but the style and comfort of the setting and the sumptuousness of the food deliver value. Executive chef Scott Kappmeier offers some excellent seafood appetizers, including richly layered sushi rolls and super-fresh raw oysters du jour.

The five-ounce pan-seared crabcake is all meat, and the ahi tuna tartare is pleasingly layered with avocado. Classic oysters Rockefeller—with chopped spinach in champagne sauce, served on a bed of rock salt—is as good as you’ll find in the French Quarter of New Orleans, and that’s saying something. (Don’t bother with the lackluster deviled eggs or the soft Kobe beef meatballs in bland tomato sauce.)

The main event, of course, is steak. The steaks are all prime beef, aged 21 days, cooked to a light, crusty char in a 1,500-degree radiant broiler. They stay wonderfully juicy and flavorful inside. The intensely beefy porterhouse for two, a 40-ounce behemoth, requires a mere shake of salt at the table. The well-marbled ribeye, or “cowboy steak” (so named because the bone supposedly made a convenient handle for hungry cowpokes), may be the tastiest cut on the menu. Thick, velvety filet mignons of lean Angus beef are served as 8- or 12-ounce medallions or as a 14-ouncer on the bone. Buttery Wagyu beef is available, either American-raised at $36 for a 10-ounce sirloin, or the genuine article from the Kobe region of Japan at $90 for 4 ounces (with each additional ounce adding $20 to the tab).

Steaks are offered with an array of sauces and toppings, some complimentary but most extra. Truffle butter, made with shavings of Italian black truffles, barely ranks as an indulgence at $3. Heart health permitting, two sides beg to be ordered: a trio of whipped potatoes (lobster, mushroom, and garlic) and ricotta gnocchi, topped with fresh ricotta, cream, a drizzle of tangy balsamic syrup, and a flurry of Parmesan.

One deservedly popular dessert is baked Alaska, a retro confection of chocolate sponge cake heaped with dulce de leche ice cream, whipped meringue, and Valrhona chocolate sauce. Fun? You bet. And your waiter hasn’t even brought your cotton candy yet. Click here to read the rest of South City Prime. Holyfield vs Valuev

Former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield (42-9-2, 27 KOs) will be getting a second chance at a heavyweight title in a little more than a year, this time against World Boxing Association heavyweight champion Nikolay Valuev (49-1, 34 KOs) on December 20th at the at Hallenstadion in Zurich, Switzerland.

Holyfield, now 46, lost his last fight, a 12-round unanimous decision loss to heavyweight Sultan Ibragimov in October 2007. Holyfield was never competitive and lost almost every round to the Russian Ibragimov. The problems that effected Holyfield on that night, namely his lack of speed, an inability to pull the trigger and slowed reflexes, were a mirror of the same problems that he experienced in consecutive losses to Chris Byrd, James Toney and Larry Donald in 2002 to 2003.

Following those losses, Holyfield was reportedly banned from boxing in New York by the New York State Athletic Commission because of “diminished skills.” Holyfield would then take two years off, healing his injured shoulder which had hampered him since the Byrd fight. After he made his comeback in 2006, Holyfield looked good beating moderately good opponents Fres Oquendo, Vinny Maddalone and Lou Savarese.

At the time, it was hard to tell whether Holfyfield had regained some of his lost skills after recovering from his shoulder injury or if he was merely looking good due to the lower level of his opposition. Whatever the case, Holyfield looked bad in losing to Ibragimov and not like the same fighter that had beaten Oquendo, Maddalone and Savarese.

Valuev, 35, regained his World Boxing Association heavyweight title with a 12-round decision over John Ruiz in September. Valuev has previously lost his WBA title to Ruslan Chagaev in a controversial 12-round decision in April 2007. However, Valuev was unable to land a rematch with Chagaev, who has suffered both illnesses and injuries, wiping out rematches with Valuev.

At 7-feet 320 lbs, Valuev presents a huge obstacle for the 6’2” Holyfield to deal with. Valuev will be enjoying over a 100 pound weight advantage over Holyfield when they step foot in the ring in December. Holyfield weighed a skinny 211 in his last fight, which will be putting him at a big disadvantage against the bear-like Valuev. Holyfield’s speed advantage won’t matter much if he doesn’t let his hands go, a problem that he suffered in his last fight against Ibragimov, as well as in his losses to Byrd, Toney and Donald.

A panel of scientists has presented the United Nations a detailed plan for combating climate change. VOA's correspondent at the U.N. Peter Heinlein reports the strategy involves reaching a global agreement on a temperature ceiling.

A group of 18 scientists from 11 countries is calling on the international community to act quickly to prevent catastrophic climate change.

In a report requested by the United Nations and partially paid for by the privately funded U.N. Foundation, the panel warns that any delay could lead to a dangerous rise in sea levels, increasingly turbulent weather, droughts and disease.

The report was issued three weeks after the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change concluded that global warming is real and caused in large part by human activity. But unlike the IPCC report, this latest document makes policy recommendations.

Panel member John Holdren of Harvard University says the world must be mobilized immediately to avoid catastrophe. "Climate change is real, it's already happening, it's already causing harm, it's accelerating and we need to do something about it, and we need to do something about it seriously, starting now. Our specific conclusions are that if the world were to go past the point of an increase above pre-industrial temperatures greater than 2 to 2.5 degrees Celsius, we would be in a regime where the danger of intolerable and unmanageable impacts on well-being would rise very rapidly," he said.

The panel's recommendations include a series of steps to cut the rate at which temperatures are rising. Chief among them are a global agreement on an acceptable ceiling for temperature rise and finding ways of adapting to cope with the damage already done.

Holdren, however, says even these measure will achieve very little unless they are accompanied by a global tax on greenhouse gas emissions. "We don't think ultimately society will get it right in terms of the full range and scope of activities needed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, until there is an additional incentive in the form of a price on greenhouse gas emissions, either through a carbon tax or a cap and trade approach," he said.

The United States is the biggest emitter of greenhouse gasses, but is not a party to the cap and trade system contained in the Kyoto Protocol on climate change.

Nevertheless, the Bush administration has set a target of cutting U.S. greenhouse gas emissions by 18 percent by 2012, and is spending $3 billion a year on climate change research.

Peter Raven, the head of the Sigma Xi Scientific society and co-author of the latest report, says success in limiting the effects of global warming will require private sector leadership, and a combined effort by the U.S. and the international community. "The private sector is doing a very good job, and kind of leadership we're calling for from the United Nations and international organizations and the kind of leadership the United States is moving towards will both be key ingredients in that," he said.

A U.N. spokesman says Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is considering calling a summit meeting on climate change later this year. Environmental activists are calling on Mr. Ban to play a leading role in the process of negotiating a successor to the Kyoto agreement, which expires in 2012.

John Holdren - World's Largest Annual Science Conference Opens in San Francisco

The world's largest annual science conference has opened in San Francisco. VOA's Art Chimes reports that this year's theme links science and a sustainable world.

The head of the group sponsoring this meeting says achieving a sustainable future requires facing challenges on a variety of fronts, from protecting oceans from overfishing to avoiding the use of nuclear weapons.

Other challenges, such as climate change, would seem more likely to have solutions based on science and technology. But the president of the American Association for the Advancement of Science or AAAS, John Holdren, himself a leading environmental scientist, says it would be a mistake to rely on science alone for the answer. "I'm a great believer in progress in science and technology, but the notion that science and technology are always going to ride to the rescue just in time is a very dangerous notion," he said.

Instead, he says, answers will come not just from scientists, but from economists, policymakers and academics, as well as from consumers making sustainability-friendly choices in their everyday lives.

Holdren says consumers do need more help in making those choices. "That is, consumers need to know what their options are, they need to know which ones will save them money, as well as energy and greenhouse gases, and we can do a lot better at that. We need more efforts to reach out to consumers with the information they need. But a lot of progress has been made. We have appliance labeling in many parts of the world, where you can look at a refrigerator you're about to buy and it tells you right on the label how many kilowatt hours a year it will use and how that compares to the average and the best and the worst, but we need to work much harder at that," he said.

Although consumers and other non-scientists have a role to play, AAAS President John Holdren said the scientific community also must take part. He said they should insist that policymakers get the facts right as they debate policy. And he is urging scientists to donate 10 percent of their time to helping solve the larger problems of the human condition.

The American Association for the Advancement of Science meeting continues through Monday.

Hot WWE Womens Candice Michelle, Torrie Wilson, Melina Perez, Maria Kanellis, Victoria, Jillian Hall and Beth Phoenix

The WWE Divas are some of the sexiest women on the planet today, and also some of the most athletic entertainers. The latest divas include the likes of Candice Michelle, Torrie Wilson, Melina Perez, Maria Kanellis, Victoria, Jillian Hall and Beth Phoenix. These women work just as hard in the ring as their male counterparts at WWE and always make for an exciting show.

According to Wikipedia, the term “diva” was originally used to describe a woman of rare, outstanding talent. It comes from the Italian word 'divina', which means "divine" in its feminine form. Ultimately it comes from the feminine form of the Latin word divus or diva, meaning "divine one." Diva was most commonly used to describe a great female opera singer, but in recent times it's been used to describe R&B or pop singers, reality TV stars, and currently the women of World Wrestling Entertainment.

Over the years, women have provided valet-ringside managerial services for the male wrestlers. Two of the earliest and best examples are Miss Elizabeth and Sensational Sherri Martel. Elizabeth most notably managed Macho Man Randy Savage and later on Hulk Hogan. Sherri was a manager for the likes of Shawn Michaels and Macho Man Randy Savage as well. Later down the road Sunny (Tammy Lynn Sytch) and Sable (Rena Mero) entered the WWE, at first as managers, and eventually they were labeled WWE Divas. Trish Stratus and Terri Runnels also came along to be managers, and eventually turned into wrestlers. There's been a long line of WWE divas, and they often compete for the famous WWE Womens Title. It's also spawned a yearly contest called the “WWE Diva Search”, where hopeful contestants compete to become the next diva in the WWE.

The WWE Divas appear regularly to wrestle on the TV shows such as Raw, Smackdown, and ECW as well as at Pay-Per-View events. They also have some of the most unique and interesting types of matches. They've had everything from pudding and gravy bowl matches to lingerie pillow fights and bikini battle royals. There's no arguing the importance of the WWE diva in pro wrestling today. They provide yet another aspect that makes the WWE great, as the divas provide fans with eye-catching sports entertainment!

After spending years in modeling and acting, Candice was hired by WWE in 2004 after she participated in the WWE Diva Search.

Currently signed to WWE on its RAW brand, the 29-year-old Candice also holds the record for being the first former WWE Diva Search contestant to win a title by beating Melina at a pay-per-view event last year. Ethan Bortnick: Accomplished Pianist At Seven

Weekend Edition Saturday, December 20, 2008 · Pianist, composer and world-class entertainer Ethan Bortnick has appeared on Oprah, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Good Morning America, and Martha Stewart. He's shared a stage with Beyonce, Josh Groban, Santana, Natalie Cole, Nelly Furtado, Wyclef Jean, Smokey Robinson, Gloria Gaynor, Patti LaBelle, and The Pointer Sisters. When he was 3, Ethan asked his parents for piano lessons. "They're like, 'You know what, I don't think you can have piano lessons, because you're still in diapers.' So I listened to every note of Mozart's 'Alla Turca,' and I started playing, and they're like, 'Wait, the audio's not on, so who is it? Oh man.' They thought it was a ghost or something playing." When they found out who was really playing, Ethan was allowed to take piano lessons.

Foot Locker - FootAction

Foot Locker, Inc. (NYSE&_160;FL) is an American sportswear and footwear retailer, with its headquarters in New York City, and operating in approximately 20 countries worldwide. Formerly known as Venator Group, Inc., it is the successor corporation to the F.W. Woolworth Company (“Woolworth’s”). Foot Locker, Inc. operates the eponymous “Foot Locker” chain of athletic footwear retail outlets (along with “Kids Foot Locker” and “Lady Foot Locker” stores), Champs Sports, Footaction USA, and Eastbay/Footlocker.com Eastbay/Footlocker.com own the rights to Final Score, ESPN Shop, AFL Store, and The United States Olympic Shop. The chain is known for its employees uniforms resembling those of referees.

According to the company's filings with the SEC, as of January 28, 2006, Foot Locker, Inc. had 3,921 primarily mall-based stores in the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia Pacific (including Australia and New Zealand).

In 1963, Woolworth purchased the Kinney Shoe Corporation and operated it as a subsidiary. In the 1960s, Kinney branched into specialty shoe stores, including Stylco in 1967, Susie Casuals in 1968, and Foot Locker in 1974.

Woolworth also diversified its portfolio of specialty stores in the 1980s, including Afterthoughts, Northern Reflections, and Champs Sports. By 1989, the company was pursuing an aggressive strategy of multiple specialty store formats targeted at enclosed shopping malls. The idea was that if a particular concept failed at a given mall, the company could quickly replace it with a different concept. The company aimed for 10 stores in each of the country's major shopping malls, but this never came to pass as Woolworth never developed that many successful specialty store formats.

Barracuda Lyrics

So this aint the end -
I saw you again today
I had to turn my heart away
Smiled like the sun -
Kisses for real
And tales - it never fails!

You lying so low in the weeds
I bet you gonna ambush me
Youd have me down down down down on my knees
Now wouldnt you, barracuda?

Back over time we were all
Trying for free
You met the porpoise and me
No right no wrong, selling a song-
A name, whisper game.

If the real thing dont do the trick
You better make up something quick
You gonna burn burn burn burn it to the wick
Ooooooh, barracuda?

Sell me sell you the porpoise said
Dive down deep down to save my head
You...i think you got the blues too.

All that night and all the next
Swam without looking back
Made for the western pools - silly fools!

If the real thing dont do the trick
No, you better make up something quick
You gonna burn burn burn burn it to the wick
Ooooooohhhh, barra barracuda.

EastBay

The East Bay is a subregion of the San Francisco Bay Area, California, United States and comprises Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. It lies on the eastern shores of the San Francisco Bay and San Pablo Bay and is generally considered to include not just the shorefront cities but the nearby inland valleys located on the east side of the Berkeley Hills.

San Francisco Bay's eastern shore was once known as "Contra Costa" (literally "opposite coast"), a name now used for and exclusively associated with Contra Costa County, which occupies the East Bay shoreline's northern quarter and extensive inland areas, amounting to about half of the land area, with the remainder in Alameda County.
