Acer wants to produce smartphones again

According to Unwired View, Acer today officially obyaila of its intention to present at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2009, which will be held in mid-February in Barcelona, Spain, its first smartphone. Given that the year before last Acer acquired E-Ten, one of the leading manufacturers of smart phones in Taiwan, the Taiwanese company is quite a statement should not surprise anyone. But that Acer will show in Barcelona, this is a different matter.

As is known, until recently, Acer sells such mobile devices in Asia and Eastern Europe, including Russia, under the brand name Glofiish, but now she wants to publish them under its own name.

While difficult to say that Acer will show visitors MWC'09, but most likely it will be a smartphone platform Windows Mobile, and he will work under Windows Mobile Professional 6.5. Remember that this is the most recent version of Windows Mobile, and said that she would be released on her way out the other day. According to Unwired View, the fact is that E-Ten has long been producing smart phones on this platform and have already gained some experience in this field. On the other hand, the company has had very limited opportunities for marketing, and frankly, the design of its products leaves much to be desired. With the Acer case with E-Ten, it may soon go on the way.

It should be noted that Acer may also present for the users of the first Android Phone, as this platform from Google enjoys increasing popularity of mobile devices. So wait, you will see, the more that the wait is short.
