Several public services in the Russian Federation headed by the Defense Research Institute is currently working on clarifying the range of possible frequencies to determine the feasibility of deploying a network WiMAX. If the 2,3-2,4 GHz band will be free, then these frequencies will be used for large-scale networking, WiMAX.

So far, officials are working on a plan that should life approved before February 1, 2009. In May, authorities will provide the results.

Recall that in the WiMAX network data transfer rate can reach 70 Mbit / second in the range of 50 kilometers. This communication is seen as a possible alternative to DSL.
