As Intel AMD long stranglehold bucks

As Tech Power Up, it is possible that AMD has announced the lowering of prices for its latest Phenom II X4, still known under the code name Deneb.

According to sources close to AMD, they may be cheaper by 20%, and this decision, if adopted, could be in force in the coming days. The point is that yesterday, Intel announced price reductions on some models of the family of Core 2 Quad Yorkfield, including the processing of a series of Q9300 and 9400. As you know, on productivity, these chips are compatible with the Phenom II X4 920 and Phenom II X4 Black Edition, so the Green Team has no choice but to lower prices for its newest chips.

If data from Tech Power Up true, the prices of Phenom II X4 920 and 940 Black Edition will be reduced to 235 and 275 to 195 and 225 dollars respectively. Prices, of course, are given for lots of 1000 units and above.
