Updated iMac is already available


In addition to updating the Mac Mini and Mac Pro, Apple have launched yesterday in the sale of long-awaited iMac with filling from NVIDIA. Of course, they are based on the latest 2-Nuclear Core 2 Duo processors from Intel, but unlike previous models of the updated iMac uses a set of system logic MCP 79 with an integrated GeForce 9400M graphics kernel from NVIDIA, says Slash Gear.

In this case, and 20 - and 24-inch versions, which have become much more powerful thanks to a processor (Core 2 Duo 3,06 GHz), increasing the amount of RAM (8 GB RAM) and internal storage (up to 1 Tbyte).

Perhaps the only difference between the two models is the size of their displays. If the 20-inch model has a display with a standard resolution of 1680 × 1050, the 24-inch model boasts 1920 × 1200 resolution (Full HD). Incidentally, both glossy screen, but not dull.

Throughout the rest of the two models are virtually identical: an integrated modules AirPort Extreme Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, Mini DisplayPort, Gigabit Ethernet, FireWire 800, 4 USB 2.0, optical digital audio input and output. Regarding the graphics subsystem, there were two possible options, or NVIDIA GeForce GT 130 512 MB VRAM, or ATI Radeon HD 4850 512 MB VRAM. But if you give latter option, you will have to lay out another $ 50 extra.

Both versions are already available for pre-order and through the Apple Store. Their price starts from 1499 U.S. dollars (24-inch version) and 1199 dollars (20-inch version).
