Fraunhofer HHI - The unique approach


Fraunhofer HHI Institute of Communications officially announced their intention to demonstrate one of his latest invention, which allows you to manage even three-dimensional (3D) television with the help of gestures, writes Engadget HD. This technology requires no touch panel, and special glasses. Its official name - iPoint 3D.

According to Paul Chozeski (Paul Chozecki), senior fellow HHI, iPoint 3D is a control unit with two integrated cameras. Onn the size of no more than the normal keyboard, and it can be installed on the ceiling above the TV. With their cameras, the device detects and recognizes the gestures and hand, and passes the data received on a personal computer. The most interesting is that the system responds instantly and contactless.
