Archos relies on smartphones and Netbook


The French company Archos, whose name is known worldwide thanks to the so-called Internet Tablet, brought to Barcelona its latest Netbook Archos 10s and MiniPC Tablet, writes Electronista. It seems that the French want to consolidate their presence in the market of mobile devices with their help. Both models were officially presented yesterday. In addition, Archos have told reporters about his plans for the coming years.

In fact, Archos 10s not very much different from its predecessor, the Archos model 10, and has the same specifications - processor Intel Atom, 1 GB of memory, drive with up to 160 GB, OS Windows XP. The only difference between them lies in the fact, Archos 10s has built module of the broadband wireless 3.5G. Mobile device is implemented in a thin shell, whose thickness does not exceed 20 mm.

Regarding MiniPC Tablet, this model has a 9-inch display and built based on the Atom Z5xx. Mobile device has a so-called System Controller Hub (system controller hub) and weighs only 0.8 kg. Apparently, MiniPC Tablet is quite compact, because its thickness is only 17 mm. As an internal hard disk drive is used with a volume of 60 to 160 GB.

It will be recalled that recently the French company also announced its intention to bring to market the first smartphone based on the platform Adroid from Google. According to design mobile device like a well-known Internet Media Tablet and will use a more powerful processor ARM Cortex. As promised the French, it will support HSPA and have very strong internal drive (500 GB).

If everything goes according to plan, by 2010 the French company will present at the Court of the general public a new generation of "planshetnikov" platform based Intel Moorestown. They are expected to be not only more compact but also have greater functional capabilities.
