MWC'09: The world's first 12.1-megapixel camera is finally out but not from samsung

It is no secret that Sony Ericsson is able to make good camera and musicphone, and perhaps, in that few can compete with the Swedish-Japanese company. At MWC'09 SE once again shown that it is indeed a leader in this market segment. At a press conference held yesterday evening in Barcelona, Spain, SE formally introduced the world's first 12-megapixel camera, which is known only by the code name Idou, and a new music phone, Walkman W995. In addition, the Swedish-Japanese company even launched a new service - MediaGo, but on this single issue.

As reported by Reuters, Idou has a 12.1-megapixel camera and runs under OS Symbian. In addition, the mobile device can still boast 3.5-inch display with a resolution of 640 × 320. As you may have noticed, you have Idou pretty big, but it is not clear to which type he belongs, whether it is capacitive, or resistive. Formally presented Idou, Sony Ericsson ahead of Samsung in the race for megapixels in the camera and now the latest model of the South Korean company, Memoir, looks a bit archaic compared to Idou. It promises to SE, the model will be on sale during the second half of the year.

The second model, which was presented in Barcelona yesterday, the W995. It is not difficult to guess, this device falls under the category of music phones and is a family of Walkman. Mobile device is implemented in the form factor slider, and its user interface is optimized for multimedia content. Among its features there are 8.1-megapixel camera, support for Google Maps, WiFi, DLNA, 118 MB of internal memory, as well as 2.6-inch display QVGA, which, incidentally, is resistant to all kinds of scratches. The set includes the M2 memory card 8 MB. According to the SE, Walkman W995 will be available in three colors - Progressive Black, Cosmic Silver and Energetic Red.

On the value of these models, even tentative, not yet reported.
