External Blu-ray recorders LaCie became much faster


This week, LaCie has launched its latest sale in the external Blu-ray recorder family d2, said Tech Connect Magazine. This model is notable that can record data on a 2-ply Blu-ray discs at up to 8X. For comparison, the previous model of this series, which was released in May last year, boasts speeds of only 4X.

The device, it must be said, fairly compact: its dimensions are 172,8 × 44,8 × 251,1 mm. The drive supports not only USB 2.0, and FireWire. With regard to optical disc formats, this model is quite versatile, as it supports almost all the major formats. Judge for yourself: 8x for BD-R SL / DL, 2x for BD-RE SL / DL, 16x for DVD ± R, 8x for DVD ± R DL, 6x for DVD ± RW, 48x for CD-R and 24x for CD - RW.

The set of this model is a software package of two programs - Easy Media Creator 10 and Toast 9 Titanium. It has already been on sale at a price of 449.99 U.S. dollars.
