Facebook is now worth 3.7 billion dollars

In October 2007, Microsoft acquired a 1.6 percent interest in the owner's social network Facebook for 240 million dollars. Experts quickly numbered the full value of Facebook - at the time, it was assumed that it was 15 billion dollars. Since then, discussion on the real value of Facebook does not tail away.

News Agency Associated Press was able to get the information that points to the real value of Facebook: total 3.4 billion dollars, that is four and a half times less than Microsoft.

An interesting method that was used in the agency to determine the value of the company: one of the AP employees simply converted the electronic versions of financial statements Facebook with shaded lines, which refers to the actual value of the company. As a result of conversion of these shaded areas simply disappeared.

In fact, the value of one share is $ 8.8, which means that 3.7 billion dollars for the entire Facebook.

The truth does not play into the hands of Facebook, putting the company in a very awkward situation: first, no one likes the fact that the real value is four times lower than advertised, and second, the financial crisis could further reduce the value of the company, and in - Third, Microsoft is clearly not pleased that trafficking cases.

One can only monitor developments closely, waiting for the world market reaction to this situation.
